The wrong method of disposal
Disposal - the unacceptable way

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is the fastest growing element in the municipal waste stream.

The WEEE Directive is a European Union initiative which sets out rules and targets for the responsible collection, re-use, recycling and recovery of waste electronic equipment.

The Directive sets targets for UK-based companies and organisations to dispose of IT and electronic equipment in line with the rest of Europe.

From July 2006, another directive - the Restriction on Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) - came into force. Computer screens and monitors fall into this category and strict regulations govern the use and disposal of hazardous substances.

Microteam Limited - an IT Logistics Services and Disposal specialist - will work with your organisation to ensure that your IT disposal schemes are fully compliant with all UK and European legislation as it becomes increasingly important for organisations to work with partners who can assure such compliance.
